Ram Design is a
FileMaker® Pro database development company. Our
customers have been retailers, wholesalers, educational
institutions, government, and non-profits. We have completed successful projects for Ben and Jerry's, Middlebury
College, Dartmouth College, University of Vermont,
Smuggler's Notch Ski Resort, the City of Burlington, and
many other small and medium sized organizations. We are the primary developer for "SpEdDoc", a special education document management system use daily in approximately 80% of Vermont (our home state) schools.
Our service includes database system design, network
implementation, and user support. System development
includes multi-user systems with either the regular version
of FileMaker Pro, or FileMaker Pro Server for high demand
situations. Database systems can also be served over the web
and viewed using a web browser (Instant Web Publishing or php), and/or with a mobile device (iPhone, iPod, or iPad).
Most of our work is done to specific customer
requirements, either modifying existing "templates" or
building from the ground up. We also sell two preconfigured
"solutions": Rental provides for daily operations of
any store renting products, such as video or equipment
rental; and Sales & Inventory, a point of sale
system with inventory management and consignment
tracking.
Paul Haskell, developer and owner of Ram Design, has been
designing databases since 1989. At that time FileMaker was called
FileMaker II, CD-ROM's had not been invented, and a 10 megabyte hard drive was a major purchase. Since then, FileMaker Pro has grown from a simple flat file database to today's powerful multi-user, multi-platform, relational system that strives to keep the user experience smart and intuitive.
Ram Design is a member of the FileMaker®
Business Alliance, a professional affiliation of trainers and
consultants with FileMaker, Inc..
